The client asked for a simple, low maintenance, sustainable design to fit a tight bay front lot. The existing guidelines only allowed for a low two-story residence with massing similar to the original structure. Our response was a thoughtful design that emphasized views in both directions towards the water and amplified the indoor / outdoor spatial opportunities. A courtyard towards the front invites guests and family into an informal gathering space that becomes the entrance to this charming family home.
